Sweet Memories, a Writing 101 Story

You stumble upon a random letter on the path. You read it. It affects you deeply, and you wish it could be returned to the person to which it’s addressed. Write a story about this encounter.

Today’s twist: Approach this post in as few words as possible.

“One more load and we should be done cleaning out the house!”  my husband called as I carried yet another bag of stuff to the dumpster.

On the return I step on one more piece of paper. Bending over to pick it up, irritated because I have been picking up papers, sweepings, odds and ends all day..  Opening it, my eyes fill with tears and my memory is flooded with thoughts.  It was a letter written to me by my oldest daughter, now married and with her own children.  In childish script I read,  “To the bestest mommy in the world I LUV U!!’

Smiling, still clutching the long forgotten letter, I go back into the house we had lived in for so long..

blessings!
