6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all [d]comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phillipians 4:6-7 NASB courtesy of Biblegateway.com
My friend sent me this verse last weekend after I had posted on my fb about being bothered by a lot and not being able to sleep that night.
I have been meditating on it all week now.
Its not like this week has been any different than any of the other weeks lately. Its just that, well, its just a lot of little things adding up. Its as the Bible says in Song of Solomon, those little foxes that ruin the vineyard. So many “little foxes” pile up after a while. I kept praying, “Lord let your peace flood my mind.” I kept thinking about this promise and waiting for it to “guard my mind and heart”.
We always want it to be a magic trick don’t we?? Say the magic words and all will be fine..
It doesn’t always happen that way. Look at the verses again. but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Like He doesn’t already know what is going on in our lives. But HE wants us to communicate with HIM. He LOVES to hear from us!! So it says, let your requests be known to HIM. Tell Him about what you want.
I prayed in the morning. In the afternoon. I have been reading it all week but sort of “forgot” the part I was to do. This morning finally I REALLY read it and noticed that part about let HIM know what it is you want. (It is only Thursday-!!!!)
I prayed and told Him my requests. I prayed. I thanked Him for what He has done and what He will continue to do.
This afternoon He sent my Mom over to listen and talk and make me realize that its ok. Ok Ok… I cried a bit. But we won’t get into that. She has a knack for those sorts of things. She has been there done that and knows just how to hit those buttons. Moms are like that aren’t they? We also tend to see and just “Know”. Its a gift God gives us I think so that we can be there for our kids and know how to help them.
Sometimes known as “the eyes in the back of our heads”. (hehee..)
He answers prayers sometimes in ways we don’t entirely expect. He is God and knows what it is we need. Sometimes we need a friend to just sit and listen. Sometimes a Mom to just say, “I know.”
He Loves us… He really really does! He doesn’t need eyes in the back of His head. He just Knows. He is God. He is right there with us. He is waiting for you right now. Tell Him what’s on your mind today. He would love to hear from you.
