The Bible

What’s the WORD??!!!

Oh man…  After that amazing blog post last week about sticking to the whole fast thing, I still blew it.  You can read about it here.  I am kind of frustrated with myself, but I also know that this fight is not done yet.  I am coming at this with some new weapons.  But I can talk about that another time.

TODAY.  download

That is my word for you today.

Still working through ENCUMBRANCES and I am enjoying it really.  I am learning a lot.  I am still in Hebrews.  There is so much to learn from Hebrews.

I got a mug from a friend as a Christmas present with the saying “Carpe Diem” on it.  “Seize the Day”.  I immediately thought of the verses in Hebrews where it talks about “TODAY do not harden your heart”.

Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says,

Today if you hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts as [b]when they provoked Me,
As in the day of trial in the wilderness,

while it is said,

Today if you hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts, as [d]when they provoked Me.”

He again fixes a certain day, “Today,” saying [c]through David after so long a time just as has been said before,

Today if you hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts.”

all from References are Hebrews 3: 7-8, 15 and 4:7

This is actually from Psalm 95.  The writer of Hebrews is quoting it here.  That makes it pretty important, I believe.  4 times mentioning it in the Bible??!!  I always tell the kids, if its mentioned once, its important.  If its mentioned twice, pay attention.  If its mentioned 3 times- you have better take heed!!  This one is mentioned 4 times.

This is something that needs to be grasped and lived out.

katiedaisy_1Listen to the Lord.  Hear His voice.  Do not harden your hearts and disobey.

This day will never be here again.  Tomorrow is a new day and yesterday is over.  Its past.

Was it lived to the fullest?  Did you hear HIS voice?  Did you listen?

Do not harden your hearts.  Listen.  Obey.  Act.

I am still learning this.  What are your thoughts?  Have you hardened your heart in some areas?   Ask Him to soften those places so you can hear Him.  I would love to hear what you have learned about this!
