Yesterday we celebrated 26 years of marriage. Can you believe it??
We made it 26 years.
Its been hard. We don’t like each other sometimes. We argue. We fight. We even like each other on occasion!!
Marriage is tough sometimes.
Yesterday we celebrated that we did indeed stick it out another year.
I don’t know why he does. I can be pretty hard to live with. He can be pretty hard to live with. And yet. Here we are another year down.
I guess that whole commitment before God is stronger in us than we initially thought.
See, we threw in the towel lots of times. But neither one would make that next move. We chose, in that inaction, to stick it out anyways. To work it out. To make it work out. Sure it was harder to live with and, well, not very pretty to live in. But in our stubbornness we stuck it out.
Iron sharpens iron,
So one man sharpens another.
Proverbs 27:17 (biblegateway.com)
I guess this scripture describes us quite well. We have sharpened each other- not in a bad way, but in a good way. A way that we can be useful to Him. That has become our goal and I think, that because we have chosen, by our actions, not by our inactions this time, to be useful to our Heavenly Father.
And He has helped us do just that.
Love you guys and thanks so much for your support and encouragement!!
