Psalm 8:3-4 (biblegateway.com)
3When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
4 what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?
It is astounding to me that God even notices us, much less knows us by name.
About 10 years ago, I was in my garden, again pulling up roots of weeds that were taking over. These verses kept running through my head, like someone was saying them over and over near me. I thought about them and thought about them. Finally, when I got back into the house and cleaned up, I looked it up and found that they were a part of Psalm 8.
For me, it was God reminding me that He does indeed care for me. He is with me when I am pulling weeds in my garden, and He knows what I need. He knows every star in the heavens and He knows every weed and root of a weed in my garden. He knows what is going on in the soil, and He knows what I need to do to help my garden grow better. This
I was just looking at some of the pictures from space that are called things like the “eye of God” or the “hand of God”. They are beautiful pictures really.. but there is such discussion over whether or not they are real or touched up fakes. I didn’t want to put them on here, but they are beautiful..
Then there were a bunch of pictures of formations in the sky that were beautiful.. Signs of God in the sky they were called.
And then I found a picture or two from child prodigy artist, Akiane Kramarik, which I think you will enjoy.
I just wanted to remind you that God is all around us. Psalm 8 reminds us that He created the heavens. He made them for us to discover and, touched up pictures or not, the heavens are beautiful! Yet, He knows us. He knows our names, He knows our needs. He cares for us. He cares for you. He knows every part of us.
That continuously astounds me. He WANTS me to know Him. He wants to talk to me and spend time with me. He wants to show me things in His Word that I need to read, things to encourage me, things to spur me on to better myself. Things like this passage that remind me that He does indeed care for the heavens and He cares for me.
God is amazing isn’t He?
What are some ways He reminds you that he Loves you?
